Dalam rangka mewujudkan karier profesi arsitek yang professional, Program Profesi Arsitektur (PPARS-UII) bersama Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI) dan Lembaga Pengembangan Jasa Konstruksi (LPJK) Yogyakarta mengadakan Uji Kompetensi untuk calon Arsitek untuk dapat diangkat menjadi Arsitek Profesional IAI. Uji kompetensi ini berjalan di PPARS UII kampus FTSP UII Gedung Moch Natsir lantai 1 Rabu 24 Februari yang diikuti 13 Peserta yang terdiri dari 11 Mahasiswa PPARS, 1 Alumni PPARS (Arsitek) dan satu Alumni Arsitektur melalui Pengakuan Pembelajaran Lampau (Angkatan sebelum PPAR diresmikan sebagai pendidikan profesi oleh IAI di Indonesia). Selamat kepada pemenang Blue Ribbon Award yang telah dipilih oleh juri tamu PAS semester ganjil 2015/2016, yaitu Karnggo Raka Siwi (bimbingan Pak M.Iftironi) dan Tatag Arhath (bimbingan Pak Ilya Maharika). Pemenang berhak mendapatkan hadiah satu juta rupiah dan piagam penghargaan, dapat diambil di studio PAS lantai 4 (Pak Sarjiman) mulai 1 Maret 2016. Selamat!

Call for Entries

Architecture, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture Schools from the ASEAN region are invited to submit their two best graduation projects to the competition Archiprix SEA 2016 for the overarching theme of “Architecture for the Public Good”.

Archiprix SEA is the regional counterpart of Archiprix International which has been celebrated biannually since 2001 in seven different cities from Europe, Asia, South America and North America. The aim of Archiprix International Hunter Douglas Awards is to stimulate the introduction of starting, talented designers into the world of professional practice.

In addition to such an endeavour, Archiprix SEA Hunter Douglas Awards aims to promote the awareness of good architectural design in the South East Asian region.

It is recognized that while certain facets of traditional wisdom remain untapped in the urban vernacular and indigenous buildings; increasingly however, the emerging patterns of high-density development and building types and programs require new and creative intervention of technologies into the building structure, system and fabric.

Through this undertaking, including publications and the promotion of students’ designs, it is hoped there will be a greater exchanges of ideas, an increased awareness of the region’s built environmental legacies and sharing among the top regional universities.

The inaugural edition of Archiprix SEA was held at the Department of Architecture (DOA) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) in December 2012. For the second edition, Archiprix SEA was held at the School of Architecture, Building and Design of Taylor’s University in Selangor, Malaysia in October 2014. Every year, a large number of teams more than 20 schools in ASEAN countries submitted their proposals, from which more than 15 teams were shortlisted by an international jury and invited to participate in the three-day final competition.

Following a collaboration for over 17 years, DOA-NUS and the sponsor Hunter Douglas Asia and Hunter Douglas Singapore (HD) will also be the organizers of Archiprix SEA 2016. The four-day competition includes among other social activities, an architectural tour, the exhibition and the presentation of proposals and two workshops.

Competition Brief

ASEAN university-level schools of Architecture, Urban Design, and Landscape Architecture are warmly invited to send their top two graduation projects to the Archiprix SEA 2016 competition. The projects should correspond to the final graduation work at bachelor (year 3 or 4) and/or master’s (year 5 or 6) levels. A maximum of 20 proposals will be shortlisted by an international jury to participate in the final round of judging at Institut Teknologi Bandung.

The sites of the projects should be located in one of the ASEAN countries, and the projects should be related to the main competition theme: Architecture for the Public Good.

The role of the architect is not just limited to the execution of technology in the construction of our built environment for the sake of development, but also encompasses always being mindful of the safety, health, and happiness of users, people, and the community, in order to improve the quality of their daily lives and environment. With a sense of public and civic responsibility, architects serve people by ensuring that economic, social, and environmental development is sustainable in cycles.

The architect has to be creative and visionary to project such opportunities for the future, to be able to collaborate with and orchestrate all the stakeholders with great compassion, and safeguard the precious cultures and resources of the earth, so that our lives and environment are not burdened for the sake of unsustainable development. How can architects use their skills to serve the public good? How can architecture be a catalyst for the public good?

The proposals need to cater to the genuine needs and desires of emerging ASEAN countries, and the uniqueness of their respective architectural designs. Therefore, the competition is intended to invite and encourage students to reflect upon the conditions of their urban, suburban, and rural areas, and particularly to think about specific attributes of localities in terms of their potentialities and cultural legacies, to realize tangible ASEAN characters and aspirations in the age of globalization and severe environmental depletion.

Projects of all types and scopes are welcome: from a single building to urban design and landscape architecture, from new designs to interventions in existing buildings/urban and rural areas. However, they must also be graduation projects authored by one or two students.

* An entrance fee is not required for the competition entry.

The sponsor of Archiprix SEA 2016 will offer travel and accommodation support for the finalists – for one or two students and the main supervisor per entry. Further details of travel and accommodation support will be announced to the finalist in September 2016.

Submission Requirements

  • Schools are required to express their interest in participating in Archiprix SEA 2016 ?by 15 April 2016 via email.
  • Schools are to select their two best graduation projects corresponding to graduation submissions from August to July 2016.
  • The authors of the two best projects per schools are to register online and identify their entries as “Project A” & “Project B” in all their submissions and documents together with the name of the school.
  • Written report and drawings are to be submitted in digital format (pdf or zip) with maximum size of 50MB through the Archiprix SEA website by 31 July 2016, 11:59 pm (UTC +8). Larger files are accepted via external sites (Drop Box, Hightail, WeTransfer, etc). CD/DVD/USB can also be sent by international courier to the expense of the participants. Only material arriving before the submission deadline will be accepted.
  • The shortlisted teams should bring their own printed boards (not mounted) for the exhibition and presentation. PowerPoint slides and scale models are optional for the presentation.

1. Written report

  • In PDF format along with source files (InDesign, MS Word, etc).
  • It will include:
    • Title of the proposal.
    • Name of university and country
    • Name of student(s) and supervisor
    • Project A / B (indicate accordingly)
    • General description of the project which includes an abstract (max 150 words), analysis of site and program, conceptual basis that guided the design, feasibility and technical innovative features. (total of 600–1000 words)
    • Key drawings and graphical information may be included in the report.

2. Drawing panels

  • Maximum 6x ISO A1 boards or equivalent display area of 1800mm (70.5 inches) x width 1800mm (70.5 inches).
  • The information on boards will include:
    • Title of the proposal
    • Name of university and country
    • Name of team member(s) and supervisor(s)
    • Map describing the location of the project
    • All necessary drawings and graphical information about the project design and context
    • A summary of the written report – in a single or fragmented text – is required on the boards to complement the graphical information

3. Further Documentation
A book with the summary of the proposals of each shortlisted team and the competition activities will be edited. Therefore, extra digital information and source files will also be required to be submitted between 1st September and 17 October 2016:

    • Written report with source files (InDesign, MS Word, etc).
    • Drawings with source files (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign) in minimum 300dpi and CMYK colour mode. Do not ‘flatten’, ‘compress’ or save the file in such a manner that the various illustrations cannot be separated from each other.
    • Source images and fonts
    • Images can be in a bitmap (raster) or vector format but must be in CMYK colour mode.
    • Bitmap images should be at least 300dpi.
    • Vector images should preferably be in Adobe Illustrator (AI), EPS, SVG, PDF file formats.
    • If fonts other than default PC/MAC fonts have been used, kindly attach them as well.

Blue Ribbon Award PAS Semester Ganjil 2015/2016

Pameran dan penjurian PAS periode utama semester Ganjil 2015/2016 telah digelar  pada hari Jum’at 22 Januari 2016 di Hall FTSP UII, dengan juri Bapak Sofian Sibarani, MUDD. LEED AP (Associate Principal AECOM Indonesia). Peserta PAS yang telah lulus pendadaran memamerkan produk berupa APREB, maket, gambar, dan laporan PAS.

Juri tamu memilih dua karya terbaik yang dipamerkan sebagai pemenang “Blue Ribbon Award ” PAS semester ganjil 2015/2016, yang jatuh kepada Karnggo Raka Siwi (bimbingan Bapak M.Iftironi) dan Tatag M. Arhath (bimbingan Bapak Ilya Maharika).

Masing-masing pemenang berhak mendapatkan hadiah sebesar satu juta rupiah dan piagam penghargaan yang dapat diambil di studio PAS lantai 4 (Pak Sarjiman) mulai 1 Maret 2016. Selamat!


ARCASIA Students’ Architectural Design Competition 2016

The Organizing Committee
The Committee of this competition is composed of members of the Students’ Jamboree Committee, the 17th Asian Congress of Architects. 

This is a design ideas competition that invites students in the field of Architecture to contribute ideas and concepts that respond to the theme “Green Lifestyle”. Each country is facing their own sustainability concerns and students are encouraged to identify, at the same time resolve, these issues by using architectural designs. 

Objectives of the competition 
Students are free to select a site to come up with design ideas, built or portable or a prototype, which would encourage users to participate in a green and sustainable lifestyle. Students are encouraged to think along lines of cost effectiveness, energy efficiency, low carbon footprint, zero carbon emission and implementable means that may work with one need found in your particular region of Asia, or one which might even be effective when adapted in many different situations.

Entry Eligibility
Any current full-time student studying Architecture or related courses accredited/ recognized by the respective National Architectural Institutions (NIA) of ARCASIA member countries.

Individual / Team Submission
Individual or team submissions accepted (No limitation on number of team members. Students are only allowed for one submission either on an individual or team basis.) 

1. One file containing one A1-sized layout (594mm x 841mm) in landscape format, including (but not limited to) the following: 
a. Location Plan/ Site Plan/ Block Plan/ Building Plans at appropriate scale;
b. Minimum one cross-section and or elevations at appropriate scale;
c. Diagram/ Sketches highlighting the design ideas and features; 
d. Photomontages, Perspectives, and or other illustrations that can illustrate the ideas and design concepts;
e. Animation is not accepted.

2. Design Statement of 500 words maximum (font size: 12) in .doc format to explain the overall proposal, with proposal title.
3. Duly completed and signed Entry Form in .pdf format Anonymity and Confidentiality of Entries
No identification marks shall appear on the graphic layouts and the Design Statement. The participant shall keep his/ her entry confidential and take necessary steps to ensure it is not disclosed to any third parties throughout the competition until the public announcement of results. 

Intellectual Property Rights
Intellectual Property Rights belong to the author(s), but upon submitting an entry to the category, the participant declares, warrants, agrees and undertakes that the submission (Intellectual Property Rights inclusive) would be used for promotion/ publication of the event. 

Assessment Guidelines
The selected entries will be judged in accordance with the broad assessment guidelines (see below) by the Jurors. The decision of the Jury Panel shall be final and binding on all parties concerned and decisions cannot be appealed against. Participants do not have the right to request for access to the Jurors’ comments or records on the adjudication.
1. How the identification of sites or green issues can reflect the special context of their country; 
2. How the proposed design can enlighten the understanding of green or sustainable lifestyles.

1) One Gold Award: HKD5,000 and Trophy

4) All shortlisted entries will be showcased at The 17th Asian Congress of Architects (ACA17) in Hong Kong in 2016.

Exhibition and Publication of Entries
The organizer is entitled to display or exhibit on any date and in any venue the entries or any part thereof, and publish including the report of the category events together with any selected entries.

Preparatory Lecture Series PAS Semester Genap 2015/2016

Dalam rangka persiapan dimulainya Proyek Akhir Sarjana Semester Genap 2015/2016, akan diselenggarakan Preparatory Lecture Series PAS. Kuliah ini wajib bagi calon peserta PAS dibuktikan dengan presensi kehadiran, dan terbuka untuk seluruh mahasiswa.

Bagi yang mau Tugas Akhir Arsitektur atau Proyek Akhir Sarjana (PAS) Arsitektur, DIWAJIBKAN mengikuti rangkaian seminar persiapan PAS berikut. Seminar ini terbuka untuk mahasiswa lainnya, peserta KTI, ataupun STUPA 6.

Preparatory Lecture Series PAS Semester Genap 2015/2016

PREPARATORY LECTURE SERIES Proyek Akhir Sarjana Semester Genap 2015/2016 akan segera digelar, dalam rangka memberikan pembekalan kepada calon peserta PAS dari segi substansi desain maupun teknis penulisan dan presentasi. Rangkaian perkuliahan ini diwajibkan bagi calon peserta PAS dibuktikan dengan presensi, dan terbuka untuk semua mahasiswa.

Time Line Proyek Akhir Sarjana Arsitektur UII Periode Semester Genap 2015/2016

Proyek Akhir Sarjana Arsitektur UII periode semester genap 2015/2016 akan segera dimulai. Calon peserta PAS dapat mulai mencermati tatacara pelaksanaan PAS baik pada Panduan PAS maupun pada Time Line PAS semester genap 2015/2016.

Secara umum pelaksanaan PAS dibagi menjadi tiga tahapan ; Tahap persiapan, Tahap Conceptual Designdan Tahap Design Development.

Tahap persiapan diisi dengan kuliah-kuliah pembekalan melalui Preparatory Lecture Series. Kuliah pembekalan ini meliputi kuliah umum teknis PAS dan materi Design ThinkingAcademic Writing, serta Architectural Presentation. Jadwal Preparatory Lecture Series yang lebih detail akan diumumkan secara terpisah.

Tahap Conceptual Design adalah proses untuk menghasilkan design brief yang telah final dengan masa pembimbingan selama 3 pekan, dilanjutkan dengan desain skematik selama 6 pekan. Tahap ini diakhiri dengan evaluasi komprehensif. Peserta yang telah lulus evaluasi komprehensif berhak untuk melanjutkan ke tahap Design Development.

Tahap Design Development adalah proses untuk menghasilkan produk desain final dengan standar gambar design development dengan masa pembimbingan selama 6 pekan. Di akhir tahap, dilakukan evaluasi kelayakan produk. Peserta yang produknya dinyatakan layak uji berhak maju ke evaluasi pendadaran. Setelah dinyatakan lulus pendadaran, peserta berhak memamerkan karyanya untuk dinilai oleh juri eksternal PAS. Setelah menempuh pameran, barulah peserta dinyatakan lulus dari Proyek Akhir Sarjana.
