COURSE SYNOPSIS

The focus of this design project will be on:

A mosque and related facilities such as lecture halls for the holiday center are comprehensive facilities to promote the knowledge and understanding of the belief and vernacular approach and construction.

Located within the vicinity (Sleman Regency) within the area that is devoted to the village.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this course are to:
1. Develop understanding of the relationship between spaces, form and function in building of long span, medium scale spaces assimilating with Vernacular Islamic values.
2. Inculcate communication skills in CAD, 3D programs and related software as well other complementary medium appropriate in the architectural design process and presentation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon the completion of this course, the students should be able to:

Describe and demonstrate skills by integrating architectural and interior architectural knowhow.
Apply cultural context in the building and interior design.
Design and application of Islamic values in building interiors.
Organize and display appropriate communication skills in CAD, 3D programs and related software or other complementary medium appropriate in the architectural design process and presentation.

THE BUILDING

The Mosque and Lecture Halls will be part of the Holiday Village and a Center for Bamboo Studies. A Mosque Building of in the middle of sub-urban area will provide convenient means for people to participate and appreciate the interiors.
